Who are we?
Marion Marlins Masters Swimming Club was founded in 1981 and is based at the Marion Outdoor Pool at Park Holme (Adelaide), South Australia. We are the largest club in SA and have approximately 120 members at present. The club welcomes any adult swimmer, 18 years and over, who would like to be part of the club and meets minimum swimming competency requirements. Our vision is to promote fitness, friendship and fun for life, through participation in training, competition and social events. Our mission is to provide a friendly and inclusive environment that encourages members, regardless of ability, to swim regularly to improve their general well being.
What do we do?
Marion Masters is affiliated with the SA Branch Masters Swimming Australia (MSA), which is an Australia-wide organisation. MSA provides governance and oversight at a National level, insurance cover for members, and organises swim programs including the National championships. The club caters for swimmers of all abilities with training sessions held at the Marion Outdoor Swimming Centre in summer and SAALC and Scotch College in winter. Our members range in age from 18 to the late-80s. The majority of our club members just wish to improve their fitness while some compete and excel in pool and open water competitions at State, National and World level. We also have members that participate in other sporting disciplines and use our swim training sessions to their advantage. Away from the pool, regular social gatherings are organised by the club and informally by its members.
